HISTORY
Papeles Nacionales S.A. was founded in 1960 by
a group of manufacturers from Risaralda in association with Mr.
Gene H Kruger, a Canadian fine paper businessman envisioning the
establishment of a tissue paper manufacturing company in that region.
The production plant opened in 1962 with a mill, a dryer, a press
roller and a conversion system for manual machines, regulated and
supported by Kruger Inc (www.kruger.com)
of Canada.

Our production plant is located in the suburbs
of Pereira (Risaralda),
on way to Cartago (Valle).

Papeles Nacionales S.A. has expanded its production
plant, as well as its distribution network to accomplish with the
increasing demand of the Colombian market. To respond to the production
volume increase in mills, we have a modern fully- automated conversion
equipment operated by computer which is complemented by a new technology
intended to support future expansion in mills. This, in order to
guarantee business growth for the next coming years.
VISION
To consolidate leadership of Papeles Nacionales
S.A. in tissue paper national market for the next five years by
assuring its products quality as well as an excellent customer and
consumer service. Also, to strengthen operations in Latin America,
under same parameters of quality and service; and to develop new
businesses compatible with its activities.
MISION
PAPELES NACIONALES S.A. develops, manufactures
and distributes tissue paper and other personal care products for
domestic and international markets, in order to satisfy customers,
consumers and workers' requirements. All efforts are made to lead
in our market, and to obtain an optimum return on long- term assets.
AFFILIATES
Fibras Nacionales Ltda.
Founded in 1971, its main goal is to collect recycling material
(paper, cardboard and smooth cardboard). Through this activity,
Papeles Nacionales S.A. contributes with reducing pollution in the
country; avoids devastation of forests; and improves economical
situation of lower- class people by providing jobs. It also reduces
costs for imported pulp. In this way, Papeles Nacionales S.A. is
contributing with country progress and it is getting ready for facing
future development challenge.
Papelera Inka (Perú)
Began operations in 1996, having as an objective to manufacture
and trade tissue paper. Papeles Nacionales S.A. has a 50% share
in this company, as a joint venture.
